Mahira Khan thanks family and fans after EMIGALA | The Express Tribune

In the wake of her rave reception at the fourth edition of the EMIGALA in Dubai, where she was crowned The Artist in Fashion, actor Mahira Khan took to social media to express the surge of positive energy she felt blanketing the event.

Posting a photo of herself in the ravishing blue gown with the stunning neckline that has made headlines and caught the eyes of fans around the world, the actor composed a grateful caption on Instagram.

“On nights like these, I feel (an) insane amount of gratitude,” penned the star. Encompassing everyone and everything she could think of in her brief but overwhelmed note, Mahira added, “For life, for courage, for my family, my friends, for big mercies and especially for the tender ones, Alhamdulillah.”

Following the theme of gratitude in her post, Mahira went on to post a video of herself clutching her award at the gala and making her acceptance speech.

“When women support other women – when generally people support other people – the stuff of miracles happens,” began Mahira in the video. “Magic happens. We think that we should take something and keep it to ourselves, but actually, the magic happens when we give it away.”

Giving a special nod to her film and television career, the Superstar actor continued, “My entire life’s purpose was to see myself on the big screen, and I hope to do that until the day I die. But my other purpose in my life will be to do what my parents have taught me – and that is to pay it forward. If we are so lucky as to be blessed to be in the positions that we are all in, then I think our job is to pay it forward in whatever way we can.”

The EMIGALA, a prestigious fashion awards event held in Dubai, seeks to recognise notable individuals who have made their mark in the fashion and beauty industry. The gala honours diverse cultures around the world and the impact they have had on fashion. Proving her star worth in spades, Mahira had appeared on the panel at the EMIGALA opening night in a bold black and white chequered suit, before changing into her ravishing blue floral gown for her award-winning moment.
